In this etude I tried to extract more direct musical and visual codes from one common idea, and that was the idea of one pattern repeating itself, but in various speeds. In the music, the "repeating pattern" idea found itself in a sequencer track with a pattern that would go with different speeds. In the visual part, it resulted in a camera that would turn around itself and observe the repeating days of one's life! So, I started with building a table that would turn around 360 degrees powered by an electro motor with speed control. I put the table in the middle of a house, pushed the record button and started the turning table. While the camera was recording its surrounding areas, consisting of a computer desk, a big sofa, some chairs, and a kitchen, I started to spend my time for some hours and interact with the sets. The resulting video was edited and projected from a video projector on the top of the same turning table, located at the center of a role of fabric around the table. In the first minute of this 3-minute video performance, the speed is steady. During the second minute, the speed of the sequencer track in the music, as well as the speed of the turning table, and the speed of the video projected on the cylinder screen would start to increase all together. In the end, the sequencer track would go so fast that sounds like a flat note, and the image would be blurry and flat.
